Our Story: From the Road to the Water

Hawkeye Marine was born in 2020 when the world shut down and everything changed.

For over 20 years I had been touring the country as a professional sound engineer, mixing live shows night after night. Before that, I spent years working in recording studios around Nashville. I moved here in 1992 from Houston, Texas, originally hailing from Southern Illinois.

But boating and fishing have always been in my blood.

My dad was a serious bass tournament fisherman. He taught me to love the water and was damn good at it — he even brought home 4th place in the Tournament of Champions on Bull Shoals Lake. As a teenager I would sneak down to Randolph County Lake just to watch the boats and dream of being out there instead of stuck on the bank. I was jealous of every angler who had a rig on the water.

When the touring world came to a sudden stop in 2020, I decided it was time for a new chapter. I took that lifelong passion for boats and turned it into Hawkeye Marine — a business dedicated to helping fellow anglers get back on the water faster and more affordably.

We specialize in high-quality remanufactured Mercury, Yamaha, and Johnson/Evinrude powerheads and lower units, along with hard-to-find parts like tilt & trim motors, bilge pumps, and accessories. Every unit is carefully rebuilt to keep your classic or modern outboard running strong.
